“The World’s Most Dangerous Religion”

“The World’s Most Dangerous Religion”

The world’s most dangerous religion is… worship of self. Not only does it destroy the worshipper, but also those they come in contact with. The reality is that mankind is fixated on self-worship. We are all guilty of it. No one is exempt. This religion of self-worship is destroying everyone. There is only one remedy… JESUS.

It all began when satan tempted the woman with being “like” God. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:5 Ever since that day in the garden mankind has been thinking far more of themselves and their opinions than they ought.

The problems of this world will not go away until we truly come to follow Jesus. When we see him as the true example of how one should live in this world. The apostle Paul taught us how we can overcome our self-worship in his letter to the Philippian church; Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Philippians 2:1-8

“Acceptance” of man’s philosophies, religion, politics, sexual orientation, and culture will never make mankind like-minded with one another or with Jesus, because all of those things are self-worship at their core. If we want to effect real change in the world then we must follow the teachings and example of the Way, the Truth and the Life… Jesus. Only then will we see true peace in the world. We must get over ourselves. How dare we make ourselves equal to HIM!

The Far Mesa

The Far Mesa

I’ll meet you at the far mesa my friend

The one over there on the horizon

Our path’s may wonder in different directions

We will meet there and travel on

That landing place, the flat mountain top

We will look back on the trail below

We will share our memories

In the camp fire’s glow

Talk of days gone by

Places we’ve been and things we’ve seen

Off into the sunset we will go

To meet our Master there on high

Where the earth touches the sky

We’ll cross the finish line.
