For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:10
I have heard it said several times lately by christians, that christians get a “pass” when it comes to judgement. The belief behind this statement is that christians will not answer for their lives and actions, but will get a “get into heaven free card”. Our salvation is not a board game, it was bought and paid for by the blood of Christ.
The apostle Paul made it clear that we all will face judgement. That we all will receive what is due us according to our actions in this life. To believe otherwise, and to teach others to do this is to propagate a lie, cheapening the grace of God and Jesus sacrifice for our sin. Revelation 2:10 tells us we must be faithful unto death if we hope to receive the crown of life.
To be faithful means to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, not to take for granted that we will make into heaven when we leave this life simply because of the good He has done. We too must do good as He has done good in order to receive the crown of life. (eternal life)
Yes, everyone will stand before the judgement seat of Christ, there will be no exceptions. All will be judged by the one that has the right to judge. We all will get what is due us. Be ready! We don’t get a “pass”.
