Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
The Apostle Paul knew he could not win the approval of humans and be a true servant of Christ. Today we see whole “churches” seeking the approval of human beings rather than serving Christ. They call themselves seeker friendly churches. They don’t want to say or do anything that will offend anyone. All done to fill pews rather than fill heaven.
When a church bows to cultural demands, rather than Kingdom commands they no longer serve Christ, but are seeking the approval of human beings. Jesus died for His church. He also gave commands for His church, and His apostles taught what was good and acceptable in the sight of Christ. To deny or change any of those teachings is to deny Christ. To deny Christ is to be lost.
The church should never become people pleasers, but should remain Christ pleasers. It is our duty to do His will. To give the world what they demand is to give them condemnation, rather than salvation. Jesus died to save the world, not to leave it in a lost state. We must choose to be servants of Christ, not servants of man.
