But the fruit of the Spirit is love
We who belong to Christ, live by the Spirit. If we live by the Spirit, His fruit will show in our lives. If the fruit isn’t visible we should consider whether or not we are living by the Spirit. If we are not, that must change.
The first fruit of the Spirit Paul lists in his letter to the Galatian church is love. For those that belong to Christ love should be evident in their lives. Love should be their motive in sharing the Gospel, and living out the example of Christ before the world. This love should be a love for Christ, His teachings, His disciples, and for the lost.
This fruit of the Spirit should be nourished, developed, and multiplied. This fruit of the Spirit should abound in the life of all disciples of Jesus. This fruit of the Spirit allows for the development and growth of the rest of “the fruit” in our lives.
