“Is Jesus your life coach?”

“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.  It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters.” -Jesus-

Our goal as followers of Jesus is to be like HIM. We are to be learning from our teacher, our master, how we are to live our lives. Self-help gurus and their books are not the answer. Jesus is the answer. Buddha is not the answer, Mohamad is not the answer. We are not to follow anyone besides Jesus.

The Gospel accounts in our Bibles show how Jesus lived, as the only man that ever lived truly faithful to God. We are to emulate his life in ours. The letters written by the apostles and disciples of Jesus, are intended reinforce a Christ like life in those that claim to be disciples of Jesus.

It is enough to be like Him. We are not enough in and of ourselves, we must be like Him. Self-affirmation is not following His teachings, it is affirming that we a all set just as we are. The only life we can measure ours against, and aspire to, is the life of Jesus the Christ. “And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.” -The Apostle Paul”

As we approach a new year, let’s aspire higher. Let’s aspire to be like Jesus. Is He your life coach? If He isn’t, He needs to be. Jesus lived a perfect life of submission and obedience to His heavenly Father showing us what a godly life looks like. He has the answers; He is the way, the truth and the life. Resolve to follow HIM!
