For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3
There are those that change where they worship, and how they worship by what pleases, or displeases them. They have come to the conclusion that they decide what composes proper worship of God by their standards. Sadly there are also those willing to change the worship of God to please people, so they won’t go elsewhere. When this happens… who is is worshipping whom?
Many times I have heard folks say the reason they worship one place or another is because they like the way a particular group worships. “They like”. It’s about what pleases the worshipper. God has never taken kindly to those that would worship Him in any way other than the way He has chosen to be worshipped.
Weakly worship is to put one’s self in the place of God. What would these folks do in heaven? Would they stand before God and tell him how they will worship Him? Would they opt to go somewhere else to worship Him in a way that would please them? Where would that be? Something to consider when we start to look at worship of God as what pleases us.
