Sunrise after the rain a poem

Sunrise After The Rain

Sunrise after the rain

Fog hovering over the desert floor

Fog is a rarity here

Not as common as near the ocean’s roar

The sky is alive with color

Yellow, orange and pink

Shadows of cactus

As the sun rises beyond the brink

Cottontails forage

Amongst the dampened desert foliage

The air is cool and humid

Autumn’s effect so lurid

Sun rises full

The mist passes

Soon to awaken

Are the masses

This moment of beauty

The LORD’s handiwork

A moment of beauty

Before the day’s work
