“Monsoon” a poem

Monsoon

“Monsoon”

Summer rain in the desert

A monsoon.

Lightning shattering the night sky

Clouds race to cover the moon

Thunder rolls on and on

A torrent will fall soon

Washes fill and swell

A wall of water racing along

Rumbling, tumbling

An eerie, forceful song

As quickly as it comes

It will move along

Clouds abate

The moon shines full

Waters flow away

Following earth’s downward pull

God’s provision

Mighty and awful
