“Even the Willow can break”

willow-tree

“Even the Willow can break”

She stands in grace and beauty

Weeping

Leaves tossed by the wind

Weeping

Her roots are strong

tendrils creeping

She bends to the wind

almost breaking

Gracefully springing back

the battering taking

She weathers the seasons

her stand not forsaking

Sun, wind, snow and rain

no complaining

Ever so slowly

her trunk weakening

Battle worn and tired

splintering

Falling to the ground

finally breaking
