For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (ESV)
All, not some of the promises of God are yes. Jesus is the answer. He is the one through which God has accomplished His great work of salvation. Jesus is the one that lived the perfect life of faith, and obedience necessary to fulfill all of God’s promises to man. Through Jesus we are now children of promise.
How many of us have ever been able to follow through on every promise we have made? I doubt anyone can say they have kept every promise they had ever made. We are weak and incapable of doing everything we have promised. No matter how hard we may try, we will fail. God never fails to follow through on His promises. He is faithful and true.
When we consider Jesus as the yes to every promise of God, we see God’s wisdom in action. Knowing what it would take to fulfill every promise, God planned to use His Son to make all things possible.
Have you ever been let down by the promises made by man? Certainly you have. Have you let others down as well? Sure you have. God cannot and will not let us down. He has proved it over and over again. His word is full of examples of promises fulfilled.
There is one promise yet to be fulfilled, but it will be. “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:1-3 (ESV) The day is coming when He will fulfill this promise. Jesus will come again and take us home. Never doubt this promise. All the promises of God are yes in Jesus.
We need to believe this promise, and live like we do. We need to want to be ready when He comes, and do our best to let other’s know that one day this promise will be fulfilled and they need to be ready too.
