So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32,33 (ESV)
If Jesus said it, its important. Jesus wants us to acknowledge him before the world. If we acknowledge him before the world, he will acknowledge us before God. We cannot expect his acknowledgement if we are afraid to let the world know about him. There are plenty of excuses for not speaking about Jesus today. But, we will not be excused if we fail to let the those around us know we are his.
The amazing thing to me is that so many believers are afraid of the minority of americans that don’t want to hear about Christianity. Truth be told we have been duped by satan into believing that we cannot mention God, His Son or His Word without breaking some sort of law. The sad thing is is that many believers propagate this lie. Sure there are people that baulk at hearing God mentioned or seeing symbols of Christianity, but they truly are the minority in this country. The news outlets love to stir the pot with their stories of anti-christian protests and the people wanting to stop us from practicing our faith and preaching the Bible. We should not let the news stop us from doing what we know we have been commanded to do.
The “PC” cop out won’t stand up before Jesus. When we’re afraid of offending others with talk about our faith, we’re offending the one that died for our sins. I don’t know about you, but I want to be acknowledged by Jesus before my heavenly Father. If I want that to happen I need to lead a life of acknowledgement. Let’s stand up for Jesus. He was willing to stand up for us and take our punishment on the cross. We can take a little ridicule for our beliefs.
